Under Sink

Some of the most popular systems are under sink water filters, leaving you with a small separate faucet from which you can dispense clean, purified water. This is ideal for homes where counter top space is scarce, sleek appearances are a must, and convenience is key. Keep in mind that an under sink water filter is a bit harder to install since they connect to the undersink plumbing rather than directly to your faucet. Be prepared to work with minor hose adjustments and connections.


An under sink water filter has its own separate faucet and requires a separate hole near your sink. Many sinks already have this extra hole, usually occupied by an in-sink soap dispenser or spray nozzle, so there's no extra drilling required. Other sinks, however, will require you to drill an extra hole in your counter top before installing the filter. If this is your situation, carefully consider the type of material your counter is made of so you do not accidentally crack it if you must drill a small hole to hook it up.
